About Consumer Education And  Research Centre

Consumer Education and Research Centre- CERC is one of the leading consumer rights organisations in India. It is a not for profit, private body which is dedicated towards the promotion and protection of consumer interests via different media, advocacy, research, information dissemination and law. CERC does not subscribe to any political ideology nor does it belong to any political party. The Government of India has recognized it as a research institute and the Government of Gujarat recognized it as a consumer organization. It is even recognized by the United Nations as one of the approved private organizations. The primary objectives behind the establishment of CERC are to ensure complete consumer safety against unsafe services and products via different means. It also aims at resolving individual complaints, protecting the environment and constructing accountability and transparency of industry and businesses which will include the public sector and utility services.
