About Vikram Sarabhai Community  Science Centre

The Vikram A. Sarabhai Community Science Centre (VASCSC) was founded in the year 1966. It was formed by the famous space scientist Dr. Vikram A. Sarabhai. The aim of the institute is to popularize the importance of science and mathematics among the youth of the country. It is situated near the Gujarat University, in Ahmedabad. The center has been honored by the alliance of different famous scientists. VASCSC has had the great opportunity in putting together different successful concepts which allowed the pupils and the community to discover and explore the importance of science in the world. The institution also has an exhibition place which is known as the “Quadrangle”, it exhibits large science exhibitions, puzzles and games, and the center also has well equipped laboratories of science and computers. It also houses a mathematics laboratory, a science playground. VASCSC has also lent hands in the setting up of 6 various science centers in different places in India. It also helped in the development of programs for the Satellite Institutional TV Experiment in the year 1971. The center has also played major roles in forming its sister organizations.
