About Bharathiyar Institute of  Engineering for Women

As said Mahakavi Subramaniya Bharathiyar (1882-1927) – “Women's Education plays an important role in the progress of a nation. Women should be educated on par with men”. Keeping these words of wisdom in view the SSET (Sri Sakthi Educational Trust) introduced its academic aid in 1997. This trust operates raining institute for teachers, a women college of Arts and Science, a Higher Secondary School and a College of Education. SSET contributed a College of Engineering particularly for the females in 2008. The aim of this college is to impart top quality technical and engineering education to the women of the society. It also wants to fully equip them with all the necessary skills and knowledge along with contemporary techniques and tools so they can face all the industry and market based challenges and also to walk side by side to the men. There are seven different faculties at the institute. This gives the students a chance to choose their desired field for their future. References World Health Organization. (2000).
