About B. R. Ambedkar Bihar  University

Bihar University, Muzaffarpur has a strong origin when it was separated from Patna University in 1952. In 1960, the Universities Act of 1960 of Bihar State separated the University and formed three Universities which were then known as Bihar University (Muzaffarpur), Ranchi University and Bhagalpur University. Later, again the Act bifurcated Bihar University (Muzaffapurr) into Bihar University (Muzaffarpur) and Magadh University, Bodh Gaya. With many bifurcations, in 1992, the name of Bihar University was altered and then the University started to become famous with the name Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University, Muzaffarpur. B.R. Ambedkar Bihar University is located in the Bihar State in the city of Muzaffarpur, India. It was established in the year 1960 with a constituency of 37 colleges. The University also offers distance learning programs and organizes several seminars and workshops for the enhancement of student capabilities. The University is recognized as one of the prime institutions in the State and offers all kinds of facilities to the students. It offers both full-time and part-time educational programs for the undergraduate and postgraduate students.
